In our global community, many people live in poverty and unsafe environments with little power or opportunity to change their situation. This is true in rural Cambodia where life does not get much tougher.
Our project's focus is on rural and remote areas of the poorest Cambodian provinces of Siem Reap and Oddar Meancheay. We are working with people in areas where the land has only just been de-mined and in some cases is still being de-mined.
A life of illiteracy, fear, mistrust and malnutrition after years riddled with murderous conflict, is all Cambodians have known. And the people in the remote villages where New ERA works, have been forgotten because of distance and danger.
In Cambodian cities, the Khmer people can get help, access to some services and maybe a little employment. Or if you live within 25k of Phnom Penh or Siem Reap, an NGO may find you.
The people we work with have only recently come to trust the soil they walk on. They are not used to being helped. They are not used to having clean water. They have never had a school. They are nutritionally deficient.
A little of the right help from us can make a huge difference to the lives of our Khmer brothers and sisters. Please use this website to see how giving your help to people in remote areas is a special and significant thing to do. It’s time for a New ERA and Education is the key.
